What to prepare before asking for a website

A short, practical inventory of decisions, materials, and questions that make a first website conversation useful.

Name the outcome, audience, and constraints.

Start with the decision the website should support, the people it needs to help, and the limits you already know. You do not need every answer before the first conversation.

Bring the material you already have.

Gather your logo, brand colours, product or service list, contact details, photographs, existing copy, and examples of sites you respect. Label what exists, what needs work, and what still needs a decision.

Mention ownership and integrations early.

Share launch dates, payment providers, booking systems, account ownership, privacy requirements, and the person who will maintain the site after handover.
